                  2023 Riesling “T” trocken<\/h2>\n

                  “\u201cHuch!\u201d is what you say in German when you are surprised by something you weren’t expecting. In English, you might say \u201coops,\u201d but it’s possibly not the same because it sounds more like a mishap than luck. “Huch” means both, but here it undoubtedly means the luck of a real surprise. Entirely based on their own grapes, in contrast to former years, the 2023 Riesling Trocken shows an intense yellow color and opens with an accordingly fruit-intense and well-concentrated Riesling nose that represents perfectly ripe and aromatic fruit of rare quality. Do you dislike mangos or passion fruit? Leave this wine out! It is incredibly juicy and aromatic on the palate yet also refined and still light, uplifted by its delicate and frisky acidity and its remarkably delicate finish. This is a Riesling that never hurts the palate of those who fear Riesling for its acidity and often austere\/mineral character. This is more irresistible than mineral. Oops! 12.5% stated alcohol.                   “The 2023 Riesling is made from 5-to-15-year-old vines and was first produced in 2019\u2014note that in some export markets, this wine is called Queen of Whites. Fresh, juicy pear, lemon and crunchy apple promise fruit and freshness in equal measure. The palate is vividly light, translucent, fresh and bone-dry.                   2022 Riesling “T” trocken<\/h2>\n

                  “Der Tesch 2022 Riesling T trocken aus eigenen, aber auch aus zugekauften Trauben, \u00f6ffnet sich mit einem klaren, subtilen, sch\u00f6n blumigen und k\u00fchlen Riesling-Bouquet von wei\u00dfen Fr\u00fcchten und erinnert ein wenig an Ruwer-Rieslinge von der Mosel. Am Gaumen ist er klar, frisch und w\u00fcrzig, mit sch\u00f6ner und anregender grasiger gr\u00fcner und wei\u00dfer Frucht und einem mittelkr\u00e4ftigen K\u00f6rper. Der Abgang ist sehr anregend und pr\u00e4zise. Dies ist ein herrlicher Riesling aus Weinbergen, die an die klimatischen Herausforderungen angepasst wurden. Die Trauben werden durch den Schatten der Bl\u00e4tter gesch\u00fctzt, und die Laubwand ist h\u00f6her, um auch den Reihen zwischen den Rebst\u00f6cken Schatten zu spenden. Das ist der alte Sp\u00e4tlese-Trocken-Stil, wenn man so will, das hei\u00dft: Die Generation vor dem Gro\u00dfen Gew\u00e4chs (GG) strebte den Auslese-Trocken-Stil an, indem sie anfangs hochreife und teilweise \u00fcberreife Trauben erntete. Die Pr\u00e4zision ist heute bei den meisten GGs wieder da, doch die Kraft bleibt bei zu vielen, haupts\u00e4chlich den Rieslingen, wo die Konzentration auf Pr\u00e4zision, Finesse und Eleganz die feinere L\u00f6sung w\u00e4re. Zumindest f\u00fcr meinen Gaumen. Dieser Riesling trocken ist daher f\u00fcr mich ein Wein des Jahrgangs, weil er zeigt, dass es immer noch Methoden gibt, einen Riesling-Stil f\u00fcr k\u00fchle Klimazonen handwerklich zu gestalten.” 90 | S.                   2018 RIESLING “T” | Tesch Riesling trocken<\/h2>\n

                  The 2018 Riesling Trocken (AP 06 19) is a new wine from Martin Tesch, and it ranks between the more simple Liter bottling and the iconic Riesling Unplugged. Sourced from newer vineyards and labeled in frog green, the 2018 represents Tesch’s Nordic Riesling style perfectly. The nose displays a clear, fresh and straight yet intense and stony-scented bouquet with (green) apple, lemon and herbal (sage) aromas intermixed with a hint of oak, although no oak material has been used here. Clear and elegant on the textured and well-balanced palate, this is a medium-bodied and fruity but fine and linear dry Riesling with nice phenolic structure, good mineral freshness and an aromatic, wellstructured and sustainable finish. The acidity is ripe and perfectly integrated into the riper and juicy fruit. If the Unplugged is too radically lean for your taste, try this one\u2014it’s really excellent and more lush and round but, like the Unplugged, leaves the palate with salivating grip and purity. 13% alcohol.
