Lush and charming on the palate, this is a textured and well-balanced Riesling from loamy-gravelly soils that guarantee ripe and finely juicy fruit provided with fine, mineral acidity and serious phenol grip. This 2023 should have excellent aging potential, and although it&#8217;s already mouthfilling, I&#8217;d keep enough bottles to see what happens over the next two or three decades. It opens with beautifully ripe stone fruit, shining with peach and nectarine, promising juicy generosity. The palate, however, delivers strait-laced brightness on a slender but juicy frame. Lemon zestiness on the finish makes the mouth water. This wine exemplifies site in its aromatic, ripe fruit profile, while the house style is embodied on the taut palate. Robinson<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2022 L\u00f6hrer Berg Riesling trocken<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The 2022 L\u00f6hrer Berg Langenlonsheimer Riesling trocken is from loamy-gravelly soils and opens with refreshing and greenish fruit aromas reminiscent of limes and lemons but also white fruits. On the palate, this is a medium-bodied, vital and quite rich dry Riesling with a complex, savory, well-structured and persistent finish. The wine is still tight but tensioned and linear. It drinks like a cool-climate Riesling, and it&#8217;s hard to believe it experienced an extremely dry and hot summer. Maybe its body and intensity give a hint, but on the other hand, the 2022 has just 12% stated alcohol. Stelvin screw cap. Tasted in October 2023.&#8221;<br><b>92 | S. Round and lush on the palate, this is a dense, ripe, textured, mouthfilling Riesling with still-young phenolic bitters on the finish. This is a surprisingly rich and powerful but still elegant and refreshing L\u00f6hrer Berg. 13% stated alcohol.\u201d<br><b>92+ | S. The wine features mineral and white flower aromas. The mouth is medium-light with the afore-stated roundness but also with a firm, sensual texture that includes a juicy\/chewiness, and minerality. Robinson | www.jancisrobinson.com<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2020 L\u00f6hrer Berg Riesling trocken<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2020 Riesling L\u00f6hrer Berg offers a deep yet bright, pure, fresh and substantial nose with leafy and spicy white fruit aromas. Firm and piquant on the palate, this is a dense, round and fruity but grippy and stimulating L\u00f6hrer Berg with fine mineral acidity and a dense and quite powerful finish. Impressive. 12.5% alcohol.<br>\n<i><b>92 | ROBERT PARKER \u2013 The Wine Advocate \u2013 Stephan Reinhardt<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This reminds me so much of the lime cordial I drank as a child. So juicy that you don\u2019t need to understand anything about riesling to have a party with this dry wine. Super balance from beginning to end! Drink or hold. Screw cap.<br>\n<i><b>94 | jamessuckling.com \u2013 Stuart Pigott<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the oldest Riesling site in the Nahe. It was planted completely with Riesling at the end of the 17th century. There is a good natural water supply here, and so there is a more relaxed expression than in the Unplugged. Forest and bush aromas here are complex. The mouth is rounder with more body and chewiness than the Unplugged. The wine is mineral with green apple fruit. The finish is long and the wine shows brilliant clarity and precision.<br>\n<i><b>93 | TheFineWineReview \u2013 Claude Kolm <\/b><\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Much more complete and satisyfing on the nose than Unplugged. Springs out of the glass with a firm footprint and some of that promised earthiness. Real grainy texture and very good fruit\/acid balance. <br>\n<i><b>16.5 | jancisrobinson.com \u2013 Jancis Robinson MW<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2019 L\u00f6hrer Berg Riesling trocken<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2019 Riesling L\u00f6hrer Berg is beautifully clear, precise and aromatic on the elegant and seamless nose with its flinty, fresh and white\/green rather than yellow-fleshed fruit aromas that intertwine with leafy and vegetal notes of fresh peas. The wine offered notes of red-skinned and mealy apples, for example, but also slightly smoked dates and crushed stones in its early stage yet becomes more and more stony now, with some refreshing phenolic notes. The ripeness level is just perfect, though. The loamy-gravelly soils of the L\u00f6hrer Berg give a pure, fresh and frisky Riesling with great elegance and finesse and a persistently salty and grippy-mineral finish. I&#8217;ve had some GGs with less appeal\u2026<br>\n<i><b>16.5 pts.| JANCISROBINSON.COM \u2013 Reviewed by Jancis Robinson MW<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2018 L\u00f6hrer Berg Riesling trocken<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From loamy-gravelly soils and bottled with 12.5% alcohol in this exceptionally warm vintage, Tesch&#8217;s Langenlonsheimer 2018 L\u00f6hrer Berg Riesling Trocken (AP 09 19) offers a clear and fresh yet intense nose with citrus and apple aromas intertwined with somewhat reductive (but attractive!) sur lie scents. Lush and round on the palate, this is an intense and elegant, well-structured and slightly tannic yet also juicy and persistent L\u00f6hrer Berg whose deep soils were a benefit in dry years such as 2018. The finish is also tight and fresh and reveals nice grip and phenolic structure. Green juicy apple flavours \u2013 bring on the Granny Smiths. Such gorgeous fruit in the middle. Juicy indeed. Neither subtle nor restrained, this should provide early fruity pleasure and more grainy-textured delight in years to come. Lush, round and elegant on the palate, this is a fullbodied, dense and juicy dry Riesling with good grip, structure and length. Although the wine shows a certain maturity on the finish, especially compared to 2018, it is still young and needs another year or two to open up. However, it&#8217;s a seriously good Riesling bottled with 12.5% alcohol. Bottled under screwcap. Fertile gravelly loam. 40 year-old vines. Real race and depth on the nose. It\u2019s immediately apparent that this is a step up from Unplugged. A note of white pepper and real breadth on the palate. The extract compensates for the high acidity. More broachable than the Unplugged. Lime crystals (and that\u2019s not just because the label is lime green, I swear). Drink: 2018-2022.<br>\n<i><b>16.5 pts.| JANCISROBINSON.COM \u2013 Reviewed by Jancis Robinson MW<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2016 L\u00f6hrer Berg Riesling trocken<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From vines over 40 years old, the 2016 Nahe Riesling L\u00f6hrer Berg Trocken (sample) opens very clear, fine and precise on the nose, representing ripe white fruit aromas along with some earthy and vegetal notes of legumes. Really stimulating! Dense, round and aromatic on the palate, this is a medium to full-bodied, well-structured, juicy and elegant Riesling with a pure, mineral finish and lingering salinity. This is an excellent representative of the gravelly clay soils of the L\u00f6hrer Berg in Langenlonsheim, one of the oldest Riesling vineyards in the Nahe valley. Just beginning to give its best and should be a very flexible food wine from 2018.
